Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders

The Indiana Humanities Council needs your help in identifying the best of the best. Nominations are being sought for the annual Governor’s Award for Tomorrow’s Leaders, which honors community, academic and entrepreneurial leaders (ages 19-29) who are making a difference in their communities.

Read the nomination requirements and nominate your colleague or friend today (or at least by June 2)! The prestigious statewide honor comes with a $1,000 award that can be used as an educational scholarship or donated to the recipient’s charity of choice.

The Council has a goal of receiving at least one nomination from each County. Let’s make sure Delaware County is not left out.

MYPG T-SHIRT CREATION CONTEST

imagesHey all you creative types!
It’s time to order a new batch of MYPG t-shirts and we need your help with the design. In an effort to get you to share your talent with us for free, we’re enticing you with a design contest.

You might be wondering “what’s in it for me?” If you are the winner, besides receiving accolades for your amazing design skills, you’ll also get an MYPG prize package (it will be cool, we promise). We’ll even throw in a little something for anyone who enters.

The rules:

  • Contest is open to any MYPG member.
  • You may enter as many designs as you like.
  • Only one prize or gift will be given per person.
  • Winner will be selected by the Steering Committee.
  • You must use the MYPG logo somewhere on the shirt. Get the logo from Traci: tlutton@muncie.com.

Things to consider:

  • You do not have to use a standard black or white shirt.
  • Slogans are ok. Be creative! Just remember that we are a professional group with a positive message.
  • Cost is an issue, so don’t design something which requires 8 colors of glitter ink.
  • You must maintain the integrity of the MYPG logo.

How to enter:

  • Deadline for submissions is April 10, 2009.
  • Files should be submitted in PDF and EPS to muncieypg@gmail.com.
  • Please convert your text to outlines/curves or send the fonts with your files.

GOOD LUCK! :-)

Traci Lutton

Traci Lutton

Emphatic that Muncie’s young professionals must play a role in the city’s future, Traci Lutton is one of the young faces that seems to show up everywhere.

She’s a founding member and the current general chairperson of the Muncie Young Professionals Group, and in 2008 the Southside High School and Ball State University graduate was a nominee for the first young professional award presented by Women in Business Unlimited.

Lutton, 33, spends her days as assistant director of business development for the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance, but her free time is filled with activities all about town.

She believes that if those in their 20s and 30s get active in the MYPG, even if just for social reasons, they’ll be more invested in the community’s future, and want to improve it.
