Local sustainability organization seeking motivated board members!
Smart Living Project, Inc., a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization founded by MYPG members Lina & Ben Gordy, and Kyle Johnson, is accepting applications for the Board of Directors. MYPG member Suzanne Clem is a board member as well (visit www.smartlivingproject.org/about.php to view the full board membership). If you want to make our community more eco-friendly, the Smart Living Project (SLP) is a great place to start. With a non-political, non-controversial and exclusively positive focus, SLP seeks to educate, inspire and challenge Muncie to become a greener and better place to live.

Our board uses consensus decision-making at our laid- back board meetings, and we meet once a month.

Applications are now being accepted for LEAD: Leadership Education and Development, Fall 2008 ProgramTake advantage of this intensive and interactive community leadership training opportunity that seeks to develop an inclusive community supported by skilled, collaborative civic leaders and increase and improve leadership abilities for current and future community leaders in Delaware County.
Goals of the Program:
- To generate commitment to serving a shared community vision;
- To enhance the capacity of current and future leaders to improve the quality of life within the community;
- To foster collaborative and connective approaches to community problem solving;
- To nurture and optimize learning styles, leadership skills, and hidden talents in personal, professional and civic life;
- To encourage capacity building partnerships that will increase and promote collaborative initiatives; and
- To build diversity and inclusiveness as values fostering broad-based trust and networks within diverse groups.

Apply for a Rotary-sponsored, all-expenses paid journey through Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Rotary is seeking young professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 to be on a Group Study Exchange team to travel outside the United States on a memorable 4 week tour of another Rotary district. This all-expenses paid journey allows team members to stay with Rotarian families and learn their culture, visit historic and civic centers of several host cities, experience how other professionals in their field practice their professions, and promote goodwill and understanding among people of the world.

GSE team departs Friday, May 1st, 2009 and returns Monday, June 1st, 2009.
